Chantal Blaak (Netherlands) solo's Elite women world road race victoy in Bergen, Norway.

Chantal Blaak (Netherlands) secures Elites Women World Road race Championship after crashing in Bergen, Norway. Katrin Garfoot (Australia) attacks to second place ahead of 2016 champion Amalie Dideriksen (Denmark) as the 2016 champion outsprinted the peloton as they are catching the chasers, 28 seconds down on the winner to bronze.








Back to back victories for Netherlands from Lizzie Deignan to Amalie Dideriksen and now to Chantal Blaak.

The sun was shining as the women took on eight laps of the 19.1km circuit course, each time tackling the Salmon Hill climb. Shortly before the first lap was finished, Sara Penton (Sweden) went clear of the peloton. She had 37 seconds on the field as she started on the second lap.
