TTTom Dumoulin (Netherlands) wins world ITT championship in Mount Floyen, Norway.

Tom Dumoulin (Netherlands) nets emphatic world individual time trial victory atop Mount Floyen, Norway he beats Primoz Roglic (Slovenia) Silver at 0:45:38.79 and Vuelta Espana/tour champion Chris Froome (Great Britain) wrap up third place bronze at 46:02.2.

Dumoulin is just the fifth rider to win a Grand Tour and a Worlds time trial title in the same season. Jan Ullrich was the last to do it in 1999. Ullrich won the Vuelta a Espana that year. Dumoulin almost caught Froome at the top of the climb, but the British rider just about managed to take third place.

The early starters on Wednesday were able to enjoy the best of the conditions, as a steady drizzle would wash over Bergen by the time the final tranche of riders had tackled the course, but few of their number would make any real impact on the leader board by day's end.
